Washington, DC – The Health Innovation Alliance (HIA) has named Roslyn Docktor its new Executive Director.
Docktor joins HIA from IBM, where she led government and regulatory affairs, advancing responsible artificial intelligence (AI) policy adopted across administrations and securing major legislative wins, including provisions in the CHIPS & Science Act and the 21st Century Cures Act. She brings more than 25 years of experience spanning government and industry, including leading White House technology collaborations and serving on the Partnership on AI Board.
“Artificial intelligence, interoperable data systems, and secure digital infrastructure are redefining how care is delivered and how patients engage with their health information,” said Joel White, President of the Health Innovation Alliance. “But innovation must be matched with strong privacy protections and clear policy frameworks that enable responsible data sharing. Roslyn’s deep expertise in AI governance and health data policy will strengthen HIA’s work to advance interoperability, safeguard patient privacy, and unlock the full potential of health data to improve outcomes.”
Docktor will bolster HIA’s engagement with Congress and the administration at a pivotal moment for AI federal preemption, interoperability standards, and emerging regulatory proposals. She will help to ensure policymakers adopt consistent, innovation-enabling rules that protect patients and provide certainty for innovators developing next-generation health technologies.
“I’m honored to join the Health Innovation Alliance at such a pivotal moment for healthcare innovation,” said Docktor. “Advancing technologies like AI and digital health tools have extraordinary potential to improve care and accelerate cures. But realizing that promise requires forward-looking policy that supports responsible innovation, strengthens interoperability, and ensures patients can securely access and use their health information. I look forward to partnering with HIA’s members and stakeholders to modernize our healthcare system and deliver better outcomes for patients.”
