Washington, DC – The Health Innovation Alliance (HIA) strongly supports the SECURE Data Act as a critical step toward establishing a clear, consistent national framework for data privacy and security. Americans deserve robust protections for their personal information, and innovators need a uniform set of rules that replaces the growing patchwork of state laws with a workable federal standard.
“This legislation represents meaningful progress toward a stronger, more coherent approach to privacy in the United States,” said Roslyn Docktor, Executive Director of the Health Innovation Alliance. “By giving consumers greater control over their personal data and providing organizations with clearer rules of the road, the SECURE Data Act can strengthen trust, enhance accountability, and support continued innovation across the digital economy, including in health care.”
HIA will work with lawmakers to help advance final legislation that protects consumers, promotes responsible data use, and fosters innovation that improves outcomes for patients and families.
